http://kareritoursandadventures.com/trip/kareri-lake-trek/ When you belong to a larger group, you have the opportunity to meet a variety of people, women that have different backgrounds, experiences, interests, etc. In a small group, while the members may be different from one another, they are probably like-minded. There is a reason you join THAT specific group, whether it’s the fact you friend belongs, the group engages in an activity you enjoy, you all have kids about the same age, you’re all single moms, whatever, the members are not going to be as diverse as they would be in a larger group.
http://abbeydalebadminton.co.uk/new-members.html While a large group lets you meet women with different interests than your own, which helps you grow as a person over time, it is also very important for you to spend time with a group of women going through some of the life challenges that you face. This enables you to give & get support & advice from others who are down in the trenches. They may have more experience than you. They may need support or advice that only you are able to offer. Whatever it might be, it’s wonderful to spend time with a group of women who know EXACTLY what you are going through. Here are 3 ways a small group can help you:
- Encouragement: As it has been said many times before, life can be tough. What am I saying? Life is tough. Sometimes, you feel you are the only one experiencing the challenges you face regularly. You have questions but you have no idea where to turn for answers. Your small group is the perfect place. Your small group should offer each member a secure place to seek encouragement. It must be a place where there is NEVER a stupid question. Your small group may not be able to offer you any material aid but they can give you the encouragement you need to carry on. Sometimes that is just enough to help you.
- Empowerment: It can be difficult to take action, even in a non-threatening situation. A small group, especially a spiritual based group, is able to give you the power you need to face the challenge ahead. Even if the group doesn’t have answers for you, they can always pray for you, pray with you, pray over you. My small group has turned into a powerful prayer warrior gathering each Tuesday evening. Between encouragement & empowerment, we have helped members through many trials over the years, big & small. Your small group has the power to awaken the Spirit within you, enabling you to face your challenges, big or small.
- Enlightenment: No one expects you to have all the answers. What you do need, however, is the ability to know where to GET the answers you need. Your small group can be a blessing when it comes to answers. Odds are your group will be made of of women similar to you. That makes it easier to seek advice when it comes to family or personal questions. If your child is behaving in a way that distresses you, it’s great to find out all kids act that way at their age. If you need a new doctor, babysitter, mechanic, your group is the place to turn. They have a wealth of information to help you over the speed bumps & around the detours of life. They are also there when things are more serious. It’s amazing how many things members of your groups will have gone through before you. They are able to help you see there is light at the end of that very, very dark tunnel. They have been down the road before & are willing to come back to help you navigate it more easily. They can shed light on even the darkest hours, holding your hand every step of the way.
Montgeron In addition, your small group is able to use each of these 3 items to help you on your spiritual journey. They are able to encourage you in your prayer life & as you study your Bible. The power of the Holy Spirit is increased in you with the help of your group & they serve to enlighten you as you study & learn more about your faith.
Your small group may be one of the most powerful tools you have in your life as you are to each & every member.
